Let’s face it — The Disney Generation has grown. The little girls who sang “Where The People Are” or “Be My Guest” are now singing “Let It Go” or “Into The Unknown” with their kids. So today’s show, Central Park, hits at the right time.

If you aren’t familiar with Central Park, the title gives almost everything away from the jump. However, the show has one big twist that can divide people into loving it or hating it. Central Park from the creators of Bob’s Burgers — is a musical. It’s 100 percent a legitimate musical about the day-to-day lives of the head groundskeeper who lives in the park, along with his two kids and his wife. In addition, of course, the show features a surprising collection of additional supporting characters. Each of whom ends up being fairly fleshed out by the end of season one.

Central Park is available on Apple TV

Before sitting down to watch this week’s episode, I tested out a new-to-me strain from “The Batch” by High Park Holdings. A joint, some bong rips and a bag of chips later, Central Park left me feeling quite mellow and thoroughly entertained.

An animated musical series that tells the story of a how a family of caretakers, who live and work in Central Park, end up saving the park, and basically the world.

Central Park + The Batch

The Batch contains a total THC level of 23.1 percent and CBD of <0.03 percent. As a hybrid, The Batch is perfect for vegging out and watching TV without settling into a nap. Flavourful and pungent, this weed isn’t one to bring with you in any non-smell-proof container. For anyone with weak hands or wrists, save something to stash your grass because the square containers tend to be a bit harder to open. Looking at the packaging date, I was surprised to see this ounce packaged in April. The buds were fluffy and perfectly moist. No need to rehydrate here!

As an adult woman in her early thirties, I have no problem admitting I’m addicted to adult cartoons. I’m also okay with admitting my love of musicals, probably stemming from the onslaught of 90s movies that live to this day. But, of course, Disney wasn’t the only one pumping out hits, and as a kid living in the middle of nowhere when it gets cold — I watched a lot of movies and TV.

Central Park manages to keep that whimsical sense of adventure alive. While it may have a TV-14 rating, it sure doesn’t feel like it when you are watching it. Bob’s Burgers is funny without the shock value, and Central Park is funny — but not exactly your typical cartoon comedy. Bob’s Burgers typically has one original or remastered song in an episode. Since Central Park is a musical, this show revolves around the songs.

Both pass the test!

Everything in the show seems plausible as well, another seemingly impossible task being a, well, musical cartoon. So if you are looking for someone in the way of American Dad or Solar Opposites, this is not the show for you. If you enjoy Housebroken, this show may be your next Thursday night staple, however. While some may go so far as to say the show is kid-appropriate even with its TV-14 rating.

After sampling this strain from “The Batch” while watching this musical, I would go for it again — show and bud. Taste-wise, it’s a total hit. The high was well worth the extra few dollars at the till. On the show side of things, I can see how it may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but this Disney-loving, cartoon-addicted, grown woman still does love her musicals.
